Lion King Kids Grades 3-5 Tuesday/Thursday Audition Prep Class + Parent Orientation Meeting

Audition Prep Class + Parent Orientation Meeting Students will get the opportunity to learn the audition song and dance while parents receive important information about the class and how to support their student. Thursday, September 5, 2019 5:15 - 6:15 p.m. Casting will occur during the first 2 rehearsals. All students will read lines from the script and learn a short vocal & dance combination to assess skill levels. Students are not expected to prepare anything for auditions. This semester we are offering the one-hour audition preparation class during the parent orientation meeting (details above).

Exploring Musical Theatre Fall 2019 (Saturday Grades K-2)

In this class, students are taught how to develop and improve creative skills through a variety of theatrical lessons. Every week students are given the opportunity to apply their imaginations so they can perform with confidence, participate collaboratively, and enhance problem-solving abilities. Activities and topics covered may include guided sensory journeys, retelling stories, statue, creative play, storytelling, pantomime, collaboration, and improvisation. For students in grades K through 2, this class is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the world of theatre, reinforce skills, and prepare for stage performances in a fun, nurturing environment.

Musical Theater Junior Workshop Fall 2019 (Saturday Grades 3-5)

In this class, students receive 35 minutes of dedicated “triple threat” training in each of the musical theater disciplines: acting, vocal arts, and dance! Every week students will explore monologues and scenes, songs, and dances from your favorite musicals. Each semester’s theme changes, so this class is repeatable, and over several years, students will have been exposed to all musical theater styles and repertoire.

In this Saturday afternoon class, students receive 40 minutes of dedicated “triple threat” training in each of the musical theater disciplines: acting, vocal arts, and dance! Every week students will explore monologues and scenes, songs, and dances from your favorite musicals. Each semester’s theme changes, so this class is repeatable, and over several years, students will have been exposed to all musical theater styles and repertoire.

Holiday Show: Disney’s FROZEN JR. Audition Grades 6-12

Auditions will be held in 2-hour intervals. The auditions will be a Vocal and Movement Auditions combined. Students should plan to attend only one of the audition sessions. Vocal/Movement Auditions: Wednesday, September 4    7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7        3:30 - 5:30 p.m. 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Callbacks (if needed): We may need to see more from some students after the general auditions for specific roles. Students invited to callbacks will be notified via e-mail after their initial audition. This 9-week workshop focuses on empowering young actors to feel free, confident and prepared for important auditions. Our instructors guide students on how to search for monologue and song material that supports clear casting choices for type, age, personality, and voice. Discussions include "red flag" songs, appropriate audition cuts, and how to prepare one's mind before, during and after the audition.
