As an ensemble, the students each play an important role in telling a story for a live audience by learning music, choreography, and staging. Heathers the Musical (High School Ed.) Rehearsal (Grades 6-12)
HITS , United StatesHeathers The Musical (High School Edition) is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized butt... but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.
Exploring Musical Theater Spring 2020 (Saturday Grades K-2)
HITS , United StatesIn this class, students are taught how to develop and improve creative skills through a variety of theatrical lessons. Every week students are given the opportunity to apply their imaginations so they can perform with confidence, participate collaboratively, and enhance problem-solving abilities. Activities and topics covered may include guided sensory journeys, retelling stories, statue, creative play, storytelling, pantomime, collaboration, and improvisation. For students in grades K through 2, this class is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the world of theatre, reinforce skills, and prepare for stage performances in a fun, nurturing environment.
Musical Theater Workshop Junior Spring 2020 (Saturday Grades 3-5)
HITS , United StatesIn this class, students receive 35 minutes of dedicated “triple threat” training in each of the musical theater disciplines: acting, vocal arts, and dance! Every week students will explore monologues and scenes, songs, and dances from your favorite musicals. Each semester’s theme changes, so this class is repeatable, and over several years, students will have been exposed to all musical theater styles and repertoire.
