Join Award-winning costume designer KRISTIN KNIPP and the always creative & crafty KAREN CLAYTON in this fun, interactive theater design class for elementary and middle school students. Students will learn about the roles costume, prop and makeup designers play in creating an imaginary world and how they support the director's vision in a musical. After picking their show, students will research, attend a production meeting and design their own costume plots and storyboards! This mini-camp will feature excerpts from the delightfully retro musical Promises, Promises by Burt Bacharach, and will culminate with a short demonstration for families on our patio (weather permitting).
